NANI LAHAINA~RHAPSODY FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA
SYMPHONIC STRADIVARIUS: TRACK #7
Nani Lahaina~Rhapsody for Violin and Orchestra is dedicated to the people of Lahaina Maui, Hawaii who, in 2023, experienced a devastation of winds and fires that took over 100 lives and burned to the ground the historic whaling town of Lahaina. Watching that devastating event via TV and Media reports was an emotional experience due to the fact that Nan had lived and worked for several months as a young adult in the town of Lahaina and loved the Hawaiian people, music and culture. The music is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, Davide Alogna violin with Miran Vaupotic conducting. Nani Lahaina appears on the Global Music Awards Gold Winning album Symphonic Stradivarius, a PARMA Recording, Navona Records Label. Symphonic Stradivarius: track #7. More Information can be found on her web page dedicated Nani Lahaina. The videos below have interviews and a promo video about Lahaina's winds and fires of 2023.

2. SIRENS OF THE SALISH SEA: V. SIRENS OF THE SALISH SEA~Ode
JOURNEY TO SERENITY: TRACK #5
Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Anna Kislitsyna piano, Miran Vaupotic conductor
Sirens of the Salish Sea~ Orchestral Suite (in 5 movements).
V. Sirens of the Salish Sea ~Ode (to George), is the final movement of the orchestral suite Sirens of the Salish Sea. The original work, a Quintet Suite, was composed during the Spring and Summer of 2020 amidst the events taking place throughout our nation and globally and expresses the sentiments of the composer as she watched the events unfold during that momentous time in history. This piece is the composer's heartfelt emotion as she watched the events on May 25, 2020 and is a "soundtrack" of that day. It begins with a questioning sound of uncertainty leading to sirens, chaos and darkness. That all ends with silence for a few brief moments followed by lyrical, angelic music of peace and heaven. Sirens of the Salish Sea is a metaphor, a reflection of that time, expressed through music and the essence of the Sea. The Salish Sea is the body of water near Seattle where the composer lives.
