Just as everyone else has had to postpone major events, projects, life experiences, work, education you name it, this too has been postponed until later this year. I should know in a few months when we will resume with the recording session and will update here as soon as I know.
In the meantime, I am writing new music, uploading sheet music to Sheet Music Plus and J.W.Pepper, taking an online class with Berklee School of Music online and going forward! I’m also really loving the broadcasts presented by RSNO and the Seattle Symphony which happen at least once a week. Of course donating to this symphonic organizations is very helpfull at this time. Youtube has channels for both of these orchestras and you can do a search and find their pre-recorded concerts. Below is my “news” regarding the upcoming recording session that has been delayed a bit.
Royal Scottish National Orchestra recording Tributum: April 2020
It’s with a grateful heart that I share this new opportunity with you. First, let me thank Burmer Music LLC for originally inviting me to create a new work for the Celebrate World Music Concert and CD recording in 2013. Since that eventful occasion, my piece, Tributum has been performed a few times in the U.S. and Canada. I originally composed this work for Chamber Orchestra and Bagpipes and later orchestrated Tributum for Full Orchestra and Bagpipes. And now the news…..
This past August I answered the “Call for Scores” by PARMA RECORDINGS and submitted an orchestral work. My piece was accepted and I’m so excited to announce that Tributum for Celtic Bagpipes and Full Orchestra will be recorded this Spring 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The recording will be a compilation CD with several composers and released with PARMA recordings on their Navona PARMA based in New Hampshire records all over the world and handles scheduling, recording, mixing, promotion and distribution along with all digital formats, Apple, Spotify, Amazon and Pandora.
As we approach April I will be adding more information regarding the soloists for this recording session. Stay tuned because it’s going to be AWESOME!
Conversations and Collaborations with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra is an interview by PARMA with Bill Chandler, Director of Concerts and Engagements with the RSNO. It’s very interesting to learn about the RSNO history, their goals and what they are looking for in new music.
