THE 65TH GRAMMY AWARDS®

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

Avant: Tributum for Celtic Bagpipes and Orchestra~

From the Album Legends and Light V.2

GRAMMY-winning Session Producer Brad Michel shared his experiences with the production.

“Recording Avant’s Tributum with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra was a particular delight. One doesn’t often get the chance to record bagpipes and orchestra, and even rarer is the opportunity to record two different types with orchestra.”

Dear Friends and Colleagues

I am excited to share with you that Tributum for Celtic Bagpipes and Orchestra recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra  is on the ballot for first-round voting in the 65th GRAMMY Awards®. Tributum appears on the album, Legends and Light v.2 ,  Lorne MacDougall ( Great Highland Bagpipes ) and Ryan Murphy ( Uilleann PIpes) a Navona Record Label PARMA Recording with Grammy winning session producer, Brad Michel

Reviews:

Avant’s Tributum  “.traditional orchestral tone poem with gorgeous melodic writing and rich string sound (it has that Braveheart/Far and Away quality).” Cinemusical

“Nan Avant’s 9-minute Tributum …The music has an epic, sweeping quality...“American Record Guide

“It is difficult to describe in words the whole storm of emotions that this great work causes. Emotional wave, which practically hits you and drives into this epic, orchestral cycle. Beautiful, live and ideal for everyone who needs music!” Nagamag

“Avant writes broad, sweeping themes that would not be out of place in film music, and the piece itself sounds as if it could represent scenes from Scottish and Irish history as shown on a movie screen. “Infodad

“Tributum, written for both Irish bagpipes and Scottish bagpipes is a work of precious detail, in which the composer conveys to us the finesse and tenderness of the skin of these heritage instruments.”  Sonagrama (Catalan)
